Phil Broad

Phil Broad is a seasoned global executive with over 30 years of leadership in food & beverage, hospitality, and retail. As President of TGI Fridays International Franchising, he drives brand growth and franchise expansion from Dubai. Previously, as Senior Vice President at Alghanim Food & Beverage in Saudi Arabia, Phil led Wendy’s expansion, opening 25 restaurants in 2024 and securing a major development agreement. He also redefined Costa Coffee’s market presence, partnering with Saudi Coffee Company. His leadership earned him the 2024 Growth Mindset Award from Wendy’s International.

During his decade with Alghanim Industries, Phil spearheaded F&B growth across the GCC, overseeing 270+ locations, introducing Slim Chickens to the region, and earning Franchisee of the Year awards for Costa Coffee (2017) and Wendy’s (2021). Phil has held executive roles with IHG, managing 900+ restaurants across 250+ hotels, Jumeirah Restaurants LLC, leading international franchise growth, and Starbucks UK & Ireland, launching the Starbucks Card and the brand’s first UK drive-thru. He also brought Outback Steakhouse to the UK and previously led TGI Fridays UK. Recognized for his strategic vision and operational excellence, Phil has received multiple industry awards, including the Jim Near Legacy Award from Wendy’s. A British national based in Dubai with his wife Olivia, he remains passionate about people development, customer-centric innovation, and transforming global brands.
